About me!

I’m an award winning* freelance beauty and fashion editor and copywriter, and I also write about women’s cycling.

Way back in the dawn of time, I was beauty editor at Just 17 – when it was one of the biggest selling titles in the country – and I’ve written for Marie Claire, The Independent and many other national titles. I’ve art directed more photo shoots than I can count, from makeovers in EC1 to beach shoots in Miami.

As a freelance copywriter and journalist I have created promotional material for Twentieth Century Fox and write for high profile brands including House of Fraser and M&S, as well as working with niche and start up brands. I wrote the beauty and fashion Style page for Surrey Life for five years, and recently worked on the concepts and copy for lingerie brand Bella di Notte‘s brochure relaunch.

I am a keen mountain biker and road cyclist and, having written a piece on women and mountain biking for Dirt, now regularly contribute to Total Women’s Cycling, as well as the Velovixen blog, Singletrack magazine and Singletrack World.

I also worked as a freelance PR consultant for Macmillan Cycletta in a project with Victoria Pendleton, which led to lots more women taking part in the event!

You can see more of my published work on the page above, or go read my blog: it’s fab, if I do say so etc.

And do follow me on Twitter too!

* Fashion & Beauty Writer of the Year at the EMAP awards. Also shortlisted for PPA Columnist of the Year award (lost to AA Gill, RIP).

2015 update – I was a finalist for Singletrack’s Best Written Feature Award this year for this post on ‘the trouble with women’s mountain bikes‘ too.
